The University of Newcastle has earned a strong reputation for delivering quality programs in the areas of creative and performing arts, communication, digital media, natural history illustration, visual design and music. In 2017, we officially launched the fusion of all of the University of Newcastle's creative disciplines to form the School of Creative Industries. We collaborate with our partners across the spectrum of creative professions to drive innovations that contribute to the cultural and economic transformation of our regions. Our degrees prepare graduates to expand their creative talents and develop hands-on skills that are relevant and in demand across the creative industries. Doctor of Philosopy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) students in the School of Creative Industries are preparing themselves for the world that we all know is just around the corner, a future where creativity, innovation and collaboration converge in an interdisciplinary global landscape. Opportunities will depend on the ability to produce ideas, knowledge and skills for a world where the 'not yet known' demands innovation and creative thinking.

Entry requirements for 紐卡素大學
An applicant for admission to candidature for a Master of Philosophy (Research) shall:
i) have satisfied all of the requirements for admission to the degree of Bachelor with Honours Class 1 or Honours Class II, Division 1 or any other degree approved for this purpose by the Assistant Dean (Research Training), or
ii) have satisfied all the requirements for admission to a degree of Bachelor in the University or another degree approved for this purpose by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) on the recommendation of the relevant School, or
iii) in exceptional cases produce evidence of possessing such other academic or professional qualifications and/or experience as may be approved by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) on the recommendation of the relevant Head of School, or
iv) in the disciplines of education, medical physics, nursing, social work, social sciences and surgery have completed a minimum standard of professional experience as required by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) on the recommendation of the School, and
IELTS - 6.5 (Minimum 6.0 in Each Component), TOEFL iBT - 79 and TOEFL PBT - 550
English language requirements
