Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management

This degree offers a comprehensive curriculum with a unique integrative business approach and provides a solid background for graduate study in sport or recreation management and other related graduate programs. Core courses will focus on the contemporary nature of recreation and sport enterprises as well as analyzing and resolving challenges in the business and culture of sports. The foundation courses will comprise a range of upper-level courses that develop a breadth of understanding and skills to meet job competencies in sport and recreation management areas. Many opportunities exist for students to gain real-world experience in their field of interest while also earning semester-hour credit through guided field experience or independent field experience.

Sport and Recreation Management majors find employment in municipal recreation, campus recreation, college athletic administration, private clubs, non-profit organizations, armed forces recreation, professional sport organizations, commercial fitness businesses, and in firms specializing in sport marketing or sport sponsorship.
