The Master of Science in Computer Science integrates fundamental theoretical concepts with sophisticated practical applications. Graduates will be prepared for employment in the field, and, for those students who are so interested, for further studies in computer science. Students must have the necessary prerequisite knowledge to undertake the study of advanced computer science topics.
In this program, you?ll master fundamental knowledge of computer systems and computational theory. Upon graduation, you?ll be able to apply reasoning, problem solving and technical skills to solve problems with minimal guidance. You?ll also be able to present your solutions orally and in writing.
Computer science is a dynamic and competitive field, and computer scientists are in high demand in a wide range of industries. We offer a learning environment that empowers you to take on tomorrow?s challenges, including research and internship opportunities in a wide variety of areas.

Entry requirements for Purdue University Northwest
Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, some programs have specific undergraduate degree requirements.
A copy of official undergraduate transcripts and any post baccalaureate work is required for admissions review in most programs. Official copies of your undergraduate transcripts and previous academic work will be required upon admission.
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or greater based on a 4.0 scale for unconditional admission.
Three letters of recommendation.
Statement of Purpose. A statement of purpose is an essay of approximately 300-500 words explaining your purpose for undertaking or continuing graduate study, your reasons for wanting to study at Purdue, and your professional plans, career goals, and research interests.
Two official transcripts from any previous college and university work completed.
The minimum Internet-based test scores required for admission are the following:
Writing 18
Speaking 18
Listening 14
Reading 19
Total 80
An overall band score of 6.5 is required for admission.
English language requirements
