The Ford Dorsey Master's in International Policy (MIP) is a two year, full-time, professional graduate degree program. The M.A. degree is earned through completion of core and elective coursework, an area of specialization, and a capstone project. The program is interdisciplinary in nature, and students are encouraged to pursue coursework that spans academic fields at Stanford. The Governance and Development area of specialization is guided by the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) at FSI. Students must complete two required courses, and choose at least three electives from the pre-approved list below - for a minimum of 20 total units.

Minimum TOEFL Requirements ibt/pbt: 100/600.
Applicants must hold, or expect to hold before enrollment at Stanford, a bachelor?s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association.

One transcript must be scanned and uploaded to the online application
Two official transcripts must be sent to IPS (see mailing address below)
Official GRE Scores (sent via ETS)
TOEFL Scores (sent via ETS)
Required for international applicants whose primary language is not English
Writing Sample
Academic writing sample, in English
7-15 pages, double-spaced
Topic should be related to international policy, however, a piece of analytical writing in another field is acceptable
