In the Elementary/Middle Special Education Teacher Preparation Program, graduates are eligible for special education teacher certification in the state of Maryland, with reciprocity in 49 states. The four-year, 120-credit-hour course of study prepares teachers to assume the increasingly complex and sophisticated responsibilities of a teacher of students with disabilities. Teacher candidates will be prepared to teach students with mild (high incidence) to severe (low incidence) disabilities, across disability categories.The Elementary/Middle Special Education Teacher Preparation is designed to prepare professionals to work with students with disabilities in Grades 1 through 8 and to collaborate with their families and other educational personnel. The College of Education at the University of Maryland provides research? and practice?oriented programs across a wide spectrum of education issues. Through its departments of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education, Human Development and Quantitative Methodology, and Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership, the College's highly?regarded faculty, staff, students and alumni are committed to equity and social justice. College programs prepare students to be educators, counselors, psychologists, administrators, researchers and educational specialists. Graduates work with individuals from infancy through adulthood in schools, community agencies, colleges and universities.

Entry requirements for 馬里蘭大學學院市分校

Your institution must submit an official copy of your high school transcripts listing all courses you have completed from all schools attended. Where appropriate, include official results and certificates of completion from national secondary school examinations such as GCSE/GCE, CBSE national and regional, CXC/CSEC and WAEC. Transcripts must be sent in the native language along with a certified English translation. The SAT or the ACT is required. If neither the SAT nor the ACT is available in your country, submit a written request for a waiver of this requirement with your application. Applicants who don’t submit some form of official standardized testing may be at a competitive disadvantage.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) ibt: University of Maryland passing score: 95, Maryland English Institute score: 94 or lower. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): University of Maryland passing score: 7, Maryland English Institute score: 6.5 or lower
