Master of Philosophy - Visual Arts

The Visual Arts programs provide students with the opportunity to develop their skills as professional artists and professionals in the arts sector. Study is available in a variety of Workshops including: Art Theory, Ceramics, Furniture, Glass, Gold and Silversmithing, Printmedia and Drawing, Painting, Photography and Media Arts, Sculpture, and Textiles.

Research in the design, digital and visual arts is focused on the development and testing of knowledge through the creation of works of art. You will develop experimental and analytical methodologies and learn to locate your work within specific historical, cultural and theoretical contexts. These degrees are suitable if you wish to extend your creative, technical and analytical skills under the supervision of expert staff.

In the research degrees you will construct a practice based project under the supervision of a panel whose expertise encompasses theory and practice. The PhD and MPhil degrees include a creative arts coursework component.
