The Master of Applied Science (MAppSc) is a 180-point, coursework postgraduate degree. A candidate would normally be a graduate but the degree is also open to those with other relevant qualifications. The MAppSc is designed for students who wish to pursue an interdisciplinary programme of study underpinned by science that delivers versatile skills relevant to multiple end-users. Optional paths are available that emphasise commercialisation, workplace-based projects or independent study.
Decisions that are made by geologists, working together with communities and industries, will inform and guide future solutions that address global challenges.
Applied Geology focuses on taking theory and research in to the real world, and working together with engineers, planners, environmental managers and research scientists to better connect communities and enrich people’s lives.

Entry requirements for 奧塔哥大學
You are required to provide scanned copies of your previous official academic transcripts (awards gained, marks, grades) with your application. A four-year honours degree or postgraduate diploma, and a two-year programme for candidates with a standard bachelor’s degree., IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.5 in the academic module (with no individual band below 6.0)., Paper-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 587 with TWE (Test of Written English) 4.5. Internet-based TOEFL score of 95 with a minimum writing score of 22. The Otago International School requires incoming international students to have studied at least one year at an accredited tertiary institution and a hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 minimum (USA/Canada), or have “credit”, “good”, or above average results.
