Entry requirements for 阿拉巴馬大學

Transcripts: UA requires one official transcript (digital or hard copy) from each institution that granted the applicant a degree, as well as transcripts of any completed graduate coursework. GRE Scores: Applicants must formally submit scores to the University, and they may not be more than five years old. There are no exceptions to this requirement. The History Department does not accept the Miller Analogies Test.
Statement of Purpose: This should be a short essay demonstrating writing skills, and the ability to conceive and express ideas. Letters of Recommendation: The History department requires three letters of recommendation. Recommendation letters are received electronically, via the Graduate School’s online application portal.
Writing Sample: A writing sample is required for both MA and PhD students. It could be a seminar paper or chapter from a thesis. It should be attached to the electronic application. Receipt of all transcripts
Receipt of GRE scores Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): The minimum score for admission to a degree program or for non-degree admission is 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT). International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The minimum score for admission to a degree program or for non-degree admission is 6.5.
The applicant must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall, 3.0 for the last 60 semester hours in a degree program, or 3.0 for a completed graduate degree program. To be eligible as an applicant to the PhD program at UA you MUST have a MA degree in History earned within the last six years.
