Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering

The department offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering with a concentration in electrical engineering (EE) or computer engineering (CpE). Electrical engineering research areas include: optics and electronic devices and circuits, communications, signal processing, machine vision, power electronics , systems engineering. Computer engineering thrusts encompass: computer architecture, software, embedded systems. This program will enhance professional opportunities through the deepening of technical skills and specialized leadership training. The department also offers graduate degrees in networked systems, a program administered by an interdisciplinary group of faculty from the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and the Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Science. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) has two key goals: to advance the minds of future leaders by providing the finest education to our students and consistently meet industry needs by developing cutting-edge technology. Our faculty believes that engineering plays an integral role in the modernization of society by leading the development of tools and devices that benefit humankind and improve quality of life.
