Courses in drama at UCSC emphasize the interrelationship between drama and other arts, not only the Theater Arts fields of design, dance, and film/video but literature, music, studio art, and art history.
We believe that a broad intellectual and artistic base will enable students to both work in the theater at various levels and to continue their studies. Productions and courses are coordinated to complement one another.
All Theater Arts majors are required to take the THEA 61 series. These three courses introduce students to issues and methods in analyzing historical and contemporary performance practices from a variety of disciplinary perspectives while reviewing the broad history of theater and performance. Readings contextualize theatrical objects as well as offer theoretical tools for analyzing, interpreting, and making performances out of them.

Entry requirements for 加州大學聖塔克魯茲分校
To be considered for admission to UC Santa Cruz, international students must be on track to complete secondary school with superior grades/marks in academic subjects and to earn a certificate of completion that enables the student to be admitted to a university in their home country. IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Overall band score of 6.5 or higher. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test or 80 on the Internet-based test. SAT (March 2016 or later) Writing & Language Test: 31 or higher. ACT combined English-Writing or English Language Arts portion: 24 or higher.
