Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Applied Science

The Engineering and Applied Science Doctor of Philosophy program is an innovative multidisciplinary program designed to model modern research. Students choose a primary concentration from a host department within the College of Engineering, Design and Computing. The primary concentration is complimented by a secondary concentration in engineering or from any CU Denver school/college. The College of Engineering, Design and Computing at the University of Colorado Denver is transforming engineering education, pointing it to tomorrow’s technologies and industries with a student-centered focus on developing the engineer of the future. We are committed to creating impactful experiences for all students and providing them with a combination of: Deep engineering disciplinary strength Proficiency using contemporary design and computing-enabled technology to formulate and create solutions to complex, open-ended interdisciplinary problems with considerable ambiguity and industry relevance, and, Exceptional social and human skills, including creativity, professionalism, global and cultural perspective, ability to continually learn in a world of accelerating change, and overall ambition and confidence.
