Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Teaching

The BFA in Theatre Teaching is a four-year professional degree that prepares students to teach theatre in a variety of dynamic and challenging learning environments. Competent K-12 theatre teaching requires both in-depth knowledge of subject matter (theatre) and skill in applying educational concepts and principles that are developmentally appropriate.

Teaching is an amazing career path that is always in demand. Over the past 5 years, 99% of University of Utah elementary and secondary teacher candidates were hired upon graduation. The state of Utah is in need of highly qualified, passionate teachers for our young learners. Demand for teachers in Utah is expected to grow by 28% over the next decade.

Career Opportunities
The purpose of the BFA Theatre Teaching Grade Licensure Program is to prepare elementary, junior high, middle school, and high school theatre educators.
