Master of Public Health - Nutritional Sciences

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program provides students with the rigorous academic skills, practical experience and multidisciplinary studies that will enable them to meet the public health challenges of the 21st century. Beginning with academic year 2020-2021, the MPH program will include six courses, taken as a single cohort by all MPH degree students, in the first year of study. Students will also complete required courses as defined by their area of interest. Across the core curriculum, students will focus on ethics and equity issues, global and local perspectives, communication, systems thinking, leadership and collaborative skills, and the evidence-to-action-and-back cycle.

The Masters of Public Health in Nutrition provides interdisciplinary training in public health and nutritional sciences to prepare graduates for careers as public health nutritionists in public health practice, governmental agencies, academic institutions, health care systems and the private sector. The degree requires coursework in nutritional sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health and health services. Successful completion of the MPH requires a practicum and a research-based master's thesis.
