關於課程
Take your understanding of film to the next level and explore your area of interest in greater detail. From film authorship and aesthetics to 3D cinema and the relationship between film and tourism, carry out independent research and further develop your abilities to think critically and communicate effectively.
Postgraduate study in Film gives you the opportunity to pursue your passion for cinema at an advanced level, while working with our dynamic researchers to complete a Master of Arts or PhD by thesis (which may include a creative project).
If you want to move into the film industry you can apply for the Master of Fine Arts (Creative Practice). This unique one-year qualification is designed to prepare you for work in the film industry as an independent contractor.
At the School of English, Film, Theatre, Media and Communication, and Art History you'll learn from and work with highly regarded academics who are innovative and published researchers.
Hone your leadership, collaborative, creative, and business skills as a practising artist over an intensive 12-month programme. Our Master of Fine Arts (Creative Practice) is an industry-focused, practical degree that will help you build new contacts and networks in Wellington’s creative industries.
You’ll take advantage of our capital city location and study at the University’s Kelburn campus. If you study Film and Music/Sound programmes, you’ll get to use our specially refitted facilities at the Miramar Creative Centre.
The MFA(CP) includes a creative project in which you’ll be mentored to complete work that showcases your abilities and encourages you to push boundaries in your field.
As part of the programme you’ll also do an internship with an arts organisation. This will give you valuable work experience and provide you with all-important connections in your industry.
