Students pursuing a degree in Robotics Engineering at WPI do much more than actually study robots?they build them, interact with them, explore their design and function, and push them to their limits. With the first-of-its-kind robotics engineering degree in the nation (and one of the first to offer graduate degrees in robotics engineering), our department is built with aspiring robotics professionals in mind. Only through the immersive, hands-on robotics courses and experiences that make up WPI?s robotics engineering degree will you find this distinct approach that combines expert knowledge with real-world applications. Simply put, if you?re looking for a STEM and robotics college that offers a robust, hands-on approach to designing and understanding robots, you?ve come to the right place.
As you pursue a robotics engineering degree at WPI, you won?t just learn about robots in a classroom. You?ll design robots, control their behavior, and understand their use as you study the core disciplines of computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering. Complementary robotics courses in social implications and entrepreneurship provide the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context as you work toward your major in robotics.
Through projects, you?ll learn how to put your classroom knowledge to work. By the time you graduate with a robotics engineering degree, you will have been constructing and operating robots for years, and you?ll understand how to apply that experience to solve real-world problems.
