Housing

Students are able to choose between a wide range of on-campus and off-campus accommodation options when studying at Queens College. Students are given the flexibility to decide based on what best suits their personal situation.

On Campus Housing

The Summit is the on-campus accommodation option for students, situated on the beautiful campus location right between the library and the gymnasium – so it's easy to enjoy access to all the college's major facilities.

The Summit offers apartment-style rooms, with the option of shared bedrooms or single bedrooms. On-site there's also a fitness center for students to use, along with laundry facilities, a Residence Life Cinema with 150 movies each month, and even private rehearsal spaces. Students also get to enjoy cable TV and WiFi internet access.

There's a Courtesy Desk at The Summit that's staffed 24 hours a day, for students to access any help they need.

Off Campus Housing

Students at Queens College can opt for a wide range of accommodation options off campus, including homestay options for students who need additional support. Students can get help finding the right accommodation to meet their needs and budget.

Dining Facilities:

Queens College offers diverse dining options, including vegan, vegetarian, Kosher, and Halal selections, along with an all-you-care-to-eat dining hall. A range of meal plans caters to students' various dietary preferences and requirements.

Library Resources:

The campus boasts two libraries housing extensive collections. The Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library serves as the primary collection site and accommodates the art library and art center. Additionally, the music library, situated in the Music Building, provides resources for students and faculty.

Transportation Services:

All Queens College students enjoy complimentary access to the QC shuttle bus, facilitating transportation across the expansive 80+ acre campus and connecting to key transit hubs such as Flushing-Main Street Station and Jamaica Station.

Performance Venues:

Queens College features versatile performance spaces suitable for events of all scales and genres. The Kupferberg Center for the Visual and Performing Arts oversees two premier concert venues, while the Music Building houses intimate spaces tailored for vocal and instrumental performances, as well as conferences and lectures.

Athletics Offerings:

As New York City's sole Division II Athletics program, Queens College provides extensive athletic facilities. Students benefit from over 40,000 square feet of gymnasium space, including multiple basketball and volleyball courts, dance studios, a 25-yard pool, and indoor tennis courts. Outdoor amenities include tennis courts, soccer, softball, and baseball fields, along with a dedicated track and field area.

Student Clubs

Students can explore the more than 100 clubs and organizations Queens College has to offer. Clubs give students a way to meet new people and enrich their student experience. Clubs are always looking for new members and joining is easy.

Sporting Events

Students are invited to cheer on one of the men's or women's Queens College athletic teams competing in their respective sports. Many students go together to the matches to cheer on the team and take in the fun atmosphere! Sporting events include basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, track and field, swimming and diving, dance, and others.

Rosenthal Library

Whether it's studying for an upcoming exam, or just some quiet reading, the Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library Building offers a haven of learning resources and tranquil spaces. The library, a hub of student and faculty research, contains over 840,000 volumes, one million plus ebooks, over 59,000 ejournals, and more than 86,000 streaming videos. The college also houses the largest music library in the CUNY system, over in the Aaron Copland School of Music.

Times Square

Located on a short 16km from campus, students can take the local bus or metro right outside of campus to downtown Manhattan to see Times Square, Central Park, Wall Street, go out, or do some shopping.

Academic journey

Academic journey

The path to earning a degree in one of the world's most vibrant cities begins with Queens College GSSP. The Queens College Global Student Success Office supports students from application to graduation.

The office provides orientation programs to help students adjust to American classrooms, offers spaces for socializing and studying, and organizes various academic and social events throughout the year. It's designed to be a space that offers a home away from home, helping students to feel comfortable with all aspects of their student life.

Prospective students have several options for joining Queens College, whether at the undergraduate or graduate level. Undergraduates can choose between the Global Student Success Program (GSSP), which acts as the first year of a bachelor's degree, or general admission for direct entry. At the graduate level, students can opt for the Graduate GSSP program or graduate general admission for direct entry.

There are almost 70 different study programs for students to choose from.
