In 2023, Murdoch opened a new teaching and learning building, Boola Katitjin, which changes the way students learn. Boola Katitjin was crowned the best higher education building at the 2023 World Architecture Festival, and deservedly so – it's designed with students at its heart with Australian-first technology, in addition to an inclusive and sustainable design which follows the biophilic principle of connecting occupants to nature. Boola Katitjin, a Whadjuk Noongar name meaning ‘lots of learning', stands on country that has been a place of learning for tens of thousands of years.

Located at the centre of Murdoch University's Perth campus, the building enables students, staff and industry to meet, work and engage in its 21 large teaching and learning spaces, technology-rich labs, and immersive industry collaboration facilities. There is also informal ‘peer to peer' learning and plenty of other student services on offer.

Boola Katitjin also provides students with a fresh space to collaborate and socialise, do group assignments and hang out with friends.

Engineering Pilot Plant

Murdoch's nationally renowned Bayer Pilot Plant is where engineering students learn real-world skills. It's one of only a few in Australia, and the only one of its kind in Western Australia.

The Animal Hospital and Working Farms

Murdoch's Perth campus is home to a veterinary clinic, a fully equipped veterinary hospital, working farm, a pet emergency centre and an equine centre with equine operating theatres.

Chiropractic Clinic

Chiropractic students will learn to treat patients in Murdoch's on-campus chiropractic clinic, which houses a rehabilitation centre, physiological therapeutics facility, consulting rooms and more.

IT Innovation Hub

Murdoch University's IT innovation Hub has the latest mixed and augmented reality equipment, an operational data centre and high-performance computing capabilities.

Law Moot Court

The Herbert Smith Freehills Moot Court gives students the opportunity to try hypothetical cases in a courtroom environment, develop advocacy and mooting skills, and compete against students from other law schools from the world over.

SimLabTM

Murdoch is the first university in Australia to offer SimLabTM technology, an immersive platform that provides students the opportunity to practise and improve their teaching techniques.

Sports Science Facility

Murdoch's sports science facility houses an exercise physiology laboratory, a performance laboratory with motion capture system and more.

Media Arts Centre

Murdoch's facilities for media and arts students include a sound stage, television, sound-mixing and radio studios, digital post-production facilities, digital and creation workplaces, and professional video and editing suites.

Nursing Simulation Suites

Murdoch's Mandurah and Perth campuses have clinical suites housing fully equipped clinical teaching wards, treatment areas, and simulation suites.

Student Central

The Student Central team supports students from the moment they arrive on-campus through to the day they graduate. Students can chat to the team about fees, parking permits, enrolment and class sign-up, student ID cards or general course information.

The careers and employability team are there to assist students in planning and developing their career, from simple, self-directed activities through to one-on-one, personalised career advice.

''I came to Murdoch University in January 2019 as a recipient of the Australia Award Africa Scholarship. Prior to coming to Australia, I was working in research, planning and data management for the National Blood Service of Ghana.

Murdoch was the only university in Australia that had all my aspirations and interests rolled up in one course. I found the health leadership aspect in particular very attractive and inspiring because I want to be a global citizen leading change in any field I work in, but especially the health sector.
