What's new

What's new

In 2024 QUT has launched the all-new Bachelor of Communication with four new majors digital advertising, community and public relations, journalism, and media and communication industries. The QUT Bachelor of Communication enables students to harness the power of media and communication platforms for meaningful global impact across a range of professions and industries. This new course has flexible course options so students can tailor their degree to suit their interests, as well as build on their unique skillset.

QUT is also offering students a new suite of vertical double degrees which include the Master of Data Analytics. Double vertical degrees allow students to study a bachelor's and master's degree in one application, and in a shorter time than it would take to study them separately. This gives students two qualifications while saving time and money.

The new double vertical degrees are designed to combine Master of Data Analytics with a range of disciplines, such as biomedical science, business, engineering and information technology. This allows students to graduate with a competitive advantage and have a broader understanding across more than one field. They were created to specifically meet industry needs and bring together expertise in statistics, computer science, and business process management disciplines to deliver graduates who can lead data-driven decision making across a wide range of industries.

Inspiring campuses

QUT has two vibrant inner-city campuses in the heart of Brisbane: Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. The campuses are connected by a free, accessible shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes. Students are close to all the action, with cultural and commercial hubs within walking distance of each. Both campuses offer performance and arts venues, fitness and medical facilities, shops and food outlets. The Gardens Point campus borders the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, which is where the name comes from.

Amazing facilities

Students can access high-tech study and collaborative learning spaces including workshops and simulation centres. The university's Education Precinct offers learning spaces, study pods and community areas interwoven with nature and technology. This space houses the Sphere-a digital LED globe that features a changing menu of visual content. There is also The Cube, an advanced interactive digital space, in the Science and Engineering Centre.

The university's Economics and Finance Bloomberg Lab gives students the opportunity to conduct financial analysis with actual real-time data. QUT health students can work with real patients under the supervision of experienced healthcare professionals at on-campus health clinics and simulation spaces. Law and justice students can test their skills in mock trials in the QUT Moot court. This provides a realistic setting for student to hone their advocacy skills, while learning courtroom etiquette and procedure.
