Overview

Overview

Sheffield Hallam University offers high-quality, applied degree courses which prepare students for their future career. It does this through real-world experience and excellent teaching.

The university partners with top employers to deliver thousands of work placements and live projects every year across all courses. Each student has a dedicated team of three advisers who offer support every step of the way. They help with academic studies, personal support, career guidance and more.

That's why 96 percent of Sheffield Hallam graduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduating (2020-21 Graduate Outcomes survey) and why Sheffield Hallam was named University of the Year at the 2022 Educate North Awards in recognition of the number of graduates who go on to high-quality jobs.

Sheffield Hallam was also named the University of the Year for Teaching Quality (The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020) and achieved five stars in the 2021 QS Star ratings.

Over the next five years, GBP 250 million will be invested in transforming the university's City Campus to provide exceptional new teaching and learning facilities. Three new zero-carbon ready buildings are being constructed using the latest technology and sustainability solutions.

Sheffield is the fifth biggest city in the UK and one of the greenest cities in Europe. It's surrounded by the spectacular Peak District National Park, so students can explore a diverse, welcoming city one day and be hiking in the countryside the next. Sheffield was also named one of the most affordable student cities in the UK (Royal Bank of Scotland Student Living Index 2022).

Sheffield Hallam creates a positive atmosphere as soon as students touch down in the UK. International students are provided with an airport pick-up, a packed orientation programme, and a variety of events to help make Sheffield a real home away from home.
