A graduate degree in the Prevention Science specialization will prepare you for a variety of careers, from applied work in human services to contributing to improving the human experience as a researcher or policy analyst. Many of our master?s students choose this specialization because of the research-based curriculum and often go on to complete a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Science. All students in this specialization obtain in-depth coursework in: Lifespan development, Normative family functioning, Prevention science theory, Risk and resilience, Grant writing, Prevention program development, implementation, and evaluation and Research design and analysis. You can expect to complete the Prevention Science degree in two academic years as a full-time student. Your summer sessions often involve research or additional coursework. Entry requirements for Colorado State University - INTO USA

Minimum TOEFL score for admission without condition is 550 (paper based), or 80 (internet based).
Minimum IELTS score for admission without condition is 6.5.

B.S. or B.A. degree with an appropriate background in Human Development and Family Studies or a related field with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher.
If your degree is in a related field, we require a minimum of two courses in human development, one course in family studies and one course in statistics with a grade of 3.0 or higher for all classes.
Because our programs are heavily focused on research, additional classes in research methods are beneficial.
You can still apply if you still need additional coursework, and you can be accepted contingent on successfully completing the required courses.
For clinical programs, you will need to get some exposure to a clinical environment. Clinical experience means working in some capacity with clinical and/or vulnerable populations.
