The Software Engineering discipline includes constructing and managing software systems for performance, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability. Software Engineers have a firm grasp of the underlying principles and methods needed to develop large software systems and manage a team of developers to ensure that software is functioning correctly, reliably and efficiently.
The graduates of this program will have in-depth knowledge of the entire lifecycle of software projects. They will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills that allow them to quickly integrate in software companies or businesses that develop in-house software.

Entry requirements for New Jersey Institute of Technology

Applicants are expected to have completed an undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or another computing related field. Students lacking the appropriate background will be considered for conditional admission on a case-by-case basis and may be required to take bridge courses (bridge courses do not count for credit towards the degree).
To be considered for a master's program at NJIT, you must have completed a four-year accredited Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, and demonstrate strong academic achievement in an appropriate discipline. Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. GRE/TOEFL/GMAT/IELTS results. One letter of recommendation. The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper-based TOEFL exam. A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam.
