Bachelor of Fine Arts ? Theatre Transfer

Vancouver Island University?s Theatre program prepares you for a wide range of career opportunities in the performing arts. Academic study covers the theory and history behind theatre, while you also develop strong artistic, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills in a highly innovative, collaborative and welcoming environment.VIU Theatre Department produces live mainstage theatre shows, a studio series and hosts numerous campus events to build opportunities for students to participate in different aspects of creating, designing, producing and performing.

Students can complete up to two years towards an undergraduate degree at VIU and apply to the University of Victoria, University of British Columbia, or Simon Fraser University for two more years of study. Most Canadian universities will accept VIU?s courses. Students intending to transfer should check with the receiving institution. VIU also offers a two-year Technical Theatre diploma program.
