Study options

ADCI offers two bachelor's degree-level courses, both of which are accredited by TEQSA and CRICOS. These are:

  • Bachelor of Data Science (BDataSc)

  • Bachelor of Cyber Security (BCybSec)

Graduates of ADCI's Bachelor of Data Science will be able to:

  • Conceptualise and design programming techniques to create databases.

  • Think critically to interpret problems in big data.

  • Apply creative thinking skills to core concepts in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

  • Communicate concepts of ICT to all kinds of audiences – those well versed with the technicalities and otherwise.

Graduates of ADCI's Bachelor of Cyber Security will be able to:

  • Design robust cyber security systems incorporating best practices.

  • Use research skills to evaluate cyber security practices to explore future Information and Communication Technology (ICT) landscapes for vulnerabilities and threats.

Student support

Student support

ADCI has a dedicated student services team available to assist students with academic and other issues. Students may receive attention from dedicated student support officers or discuss their concerns in greater depth with the student support services team.

Teaching staff at ADCI are available for a minimum of an hour per week for each unit of study they teach to provide specific support to learners, including face-to-face delivery.

The ADCI Orientation Program provides international students with information on student visa requirements, living and studying in the country, and assimilating into studying at ADCI and Australia. The student services orientation presentation is also available at any time via the ADCI Learning Management System (Canvas).

The student services team also assist international students with airport pickups, accommodation transfers and referrals to the Australian Homestay Network (AHN), which offers comprehensive homestay placement services. Student safety and wellbeing is the utmost importance at ADCI.

Facilities

ADCI's vibrant, welcoming and cosmopolitan inner-city campus is located in Perth city on Adelaide Terrace in the Perth CBD. The building is centrally located, making it easy for students to access many services and amenities. The campus is located within five minutes walking distance to both Perth train stations and bus stops. The institute's location is also close to major restaurants and cafes, serving as the ideal spot for student breaks and study sessions.

ADCI is located within the Free Transit Zone (FTZ) in the Perth CBD –where all bus and train services in the zone are available free of charge. The campus offers easy access to major freeway links to the North and South of Perth. ADCI is located close to Kings Park, providing students with easy access to the ferry to South Perth and Rottnest Island.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

ADCI offers students the convenience of flexible entry options and various study pathways. Entrance requirements for admission to one of the two bachelor's degree courses include one or more of the following:

  • Completion of Year 12 with the required ATAR (Australia), or the equivalent for international applicants
    • Achieving a minimum score of 70 on the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), and a final school grade of C or higher in Mathematics Methods
    • Successful completion of the unit of study MAT101 Introduction to Mathematics
  • Successful completion of Foundation Studies at a recognised Higher Education Provider
  • Successful completion of a Vocational Qualification (AQF Level 4) or higher in the field of Information and Communication Technology.

English proficiency

International applicants hailing from countries where English is not the first or native language need to provide evidence of minimum proficiency in one of the following ways:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – a minimum of 6.0 in the Academic Test and no band less than 5.5
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – 64 on the Internet-based Test and a minimum of 17 in all sections, or 550 on the paper-based test and Written English score of 5
  • Cambridge English – 180, with a score of no less than 180 in each component
  • Pearson test of English (PTE Academic) – test score of 57, with no band less than 50
