One of the country’s most selective public research universities, Clemson University serves a uniquely driven and highly accomplished student body. Clemson is a science and engineering-oriented college dedicated to teaching, research and service. Founded in 1889, the university remains committed both to world-class research and a high quality of life.

Clemson University leads the way in providing a hands-on education in the lab, in the arts and in the field. Academic programs lay the groundwork for innovative research at this South Carolina university. With more than 80 undergraduate majors and 110 graduate degree programs, there are plenty of opportunities and career paths to choose from. Research opportunities, travel abroad, mentoring programs and campus involvement are all part of the undergraduate experience.

The Club Sports Program promotes participation in a wide variety of activities, complementing the University’s Intramural Sports Program and Outdoor Recreation Program. They are designed to help students develop leadership, financial, and organizational management skills through the opportunity to create, organize, and run their own club. Beside this there are more than 500 student’s clubs and organizations, 34 club sports, 17 intramural sports and 6 campus media organizations.

As a STEM-intensive, land-grant institution with robust programs in the social sciences and humanities, an active extension and public service network, and state-of-the-art innovation campuses, Clemson has a unique opportunity to lead the nation in solving pressing scientific, technical and human problems and creating an environment that prizes inquiry, creativity and scholarship.

The beautiful college campus sits on 20,000 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along the shores of Lake Hartwell. The Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center features athletic fields and a large beach where students have access to Lake Hartwell. Canoes and kayaks are available for free rental at Clemson Outdoor Recreation and Education.
