Founded in 1841, Fordham University is a Jesuit, Catholic university. The university spirit comes from the nearly 500-year history of the Jesuits. It’s the spirit of full-hearted engagement with profound ideas, with communities around the world, with injustice, with beauty, with the entirety of the human experience.

Fordham is a world-class comprehensive research institution. With over 60 undergraduate degrees and over 130 graduate degrees and advanced certificate programs offered through 9 schools on 3 campuses, students are sure to find a way at Fordham to make their mark on the world.

One of the best aspects of a great college experience is a strong sense of community, plenty of school spirit, and tradition. During 175 years in its existence, the University has passed down many traditions that have built a community that lasts lifetimes. Fordham also hosts an extraordinary variety of lectures, performances, exhibitions, concerts, service outings, film screenings, spiritual gatherings, and more - many of which are student planned and run.

There are plenty of student organizations that students can be a part off. These organizations bring many benefits such as Development of leadership skills, Practical hands-on experience, planning of campus events, Preparation for life's challenges, sharing of common interests and experiences and Lasting friendships. There are over 130 student organizations at Fordham Rose Hill and over 50 student organizations at Fordham Lincoln Center.

The 8-acre Manhattan campus spans two city blocks, with a landscaped plaza where students can find a respite from the City without actually leaving it. The 85-acre Bronx campus features Gothic architecture and tree-lined walkways. Home to the Westchester branches of the Fordham School of Professional and Continuing Studies, Gabelli School of Business, Graduate School of Education, and the Graduate School of Social Service, the university is also home to four institutes: The Beck Institute on Poverty and Religion, Children FIRST, National Center for Social Work Trauma Education, and the Ravazzin Center on Aging.
