Mt. San Antonio College is a public community college that offers a diversified educational program designed to prepare students for success in today’s diverse economic, professional, technical, and cultural sectors. It was created in December, 1945, when voters of four local high school districts approved the formation of a community college district. Initially known as Eastern Los Angeles County Community College, the institution was later renamed Mt. San Antonio College after the most visible snow-capped mountain (popularly known as Mt. Baldy) in the distance behind the campus.

Mt. SAC academic programs are widely recognized with programs earning recognition at regional, state, national and international competitions. The college provides more than 261 degrees and certificate programs. At Mt. San Antonio College, Students will find faculty, courses, facilities, and technology that rival that of the best four-year universities. The college pride itself on the excellence and variety of academic programs. Students get the chance to participate in prestigious research programs and have a better chance of getting into a 4-year university after taking their first two years of college here.

The campus sits on 420 rolling acres in Walnut, California, located on the eastern edge of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city of Walnut is considered one of the Best Small Towns to Live In by Money Magazine. A diverse suburb, Walnut is known for its nationally renowned schools and equestrian community. It combines the charms of rural living with the benefits of being just 25 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and its incredible cultural and recreational activities.
