Since 1895, NEGS has maintained a proud tradition of providing outstanding education for day and boarding students from Years 7 to 12. Beginning in the 1970s, it has included education for boys and girls from Transition to Year 6 at NEGS Junior School. There is no other place where the best of tradition enhances the possibilities of the future in the way that NEGS does. It believes that success is best measured by the way in which the students are prepared to embrace the challenges that await them beyond their school years. The school lays the foundation for each of the students to be self-confident, inquisitive, tolerant, and positive young women.

New England Girls' School offers a personalized academic program which encourages students to identify and develop their talents and express those talents with confidence. The intimate classes are taught by well-qualified teachers with a genuine passion for learning. The NEGS Junior School has a family atmosphere where parental involvement is encouraged. The school caters for boys and girls from Transition to Year 6. The classes are structured so that each student’s learning style is catered for and each student is strongly supported in his or her learning. The Senior School offers girls a comprehensive careers program, enhanced leadership opportunities, full membership to IGSSA for competitive sport, extension education events, opportunity to be a part of the wider cultural life of Armidale and opportunities to utilize the University of New England’s extensive resources.

The beautiful 50-hectare campus has a mix of old and new heritage listed buildings with state of the art Science laboratories, a multi-purpose centre and a national standard Equestrian Centre. NEGS also boasts a range of resources for extra-curricular activities catering for the needs of every student.
