Troy University’s history of teaching excellence dates to its founding in February 1887 as Troy Normal School. From the outset, the institution quickly earned a reputation for innovation and accessibility. Troy Normal became Troy State Teacher’s College in 1929, Troy State College in 1957, and Troy State University in 1967.

With more than 70 countries represented on Troy Campus, no wonder TROY is “Alabama’s International University.” Every year, the university warmly welcomes students to the melting pot of ideas, cultures and learning reflected in the culture of the United States. TROY provides students with about 225 undergraduate and graduate programs to choose from, so they can pursue their interests, work towards their dream career and discover more about themselves during higher education experience in the United States.
