Since its founding in 1888, Utah State University has evolved from a small-town college tucked away in the Northern Utah Mountains to a thriving research university respected around the world. Students can choose from an array of academic and social opportunities at a university known throughout the world for its intellectual and technological leadership.

Utah State professors are filled with passion for what they do. Dedicated instructors work closely with students to teach and inspire every day. And they do it well. Utah State University has seven degree-granting colleges, in addition to the Huntsman School of Business, offering a spectrum of undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and specialized degree programs. The university offers 178 undergraduate and 133 graduate degree programs. Some of the most popular majors are General Studies, Economics, Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, Mechanical Engineering, Psychology, Elementary Education.

USU is the oldest residential campus in Utah offering a variety of year-round activities and countless ways to connect with other members of the university community. With more than 200 student clubs and organizations, there are extensive opportunities to engage every student. And for the many students who participate, it isn’t even about getting credit, but about making a difference and moving forward toward a better, smarter future.

When it comes to recreation and well-being, USU has it all. Several fitness facilities cater to a range of interests and students have access to the free health clinic and wellness center. Logan and the surrounding area, including ski resorts, lakes, rivers, and mountains, make USU one of the finest recreational environments in the nation. USU's Caine College of Arts, which hosts numerous events on campus.

The main campus at Logan is just minutes from two mountain ranges and within a half-day's drive of six national parks, including Yellowstone and Arches. It provides big-school opportunities with a small-school feel, and all for a great value. Ten major ski resorts, many of which hosted sites for the 2002 Winter Olympics, lie within a two-hour drive of campus. USU is also within a half-day's drive of six national parks, including Yellowstone.
