14 Morgantown colleges and schools offer more than 350 majors in agriculture, natural resources and design, arts and sciences, business and economics, creative arts, dentistry, education and human services, engineering and mineral resources, law, media, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physical activity and sport sciences, public health. Hundreds of distance education and online classes are available.

The WVU Libraries encompass seven libraries state-wide. Facilities in Morgantown include the Downtown Campus Library, Evansdale Library, Health Sciences Library, Law Library, and the West Virginia and Regional History Center. Onsite collections include more than 2.4 million books, over 600,000 e-books and 90,000 e-journals.

The university offers more than 450 Student Organizations within the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. The Student Life Division supports West Virginia University’s student-centered learning environment, allows students to fully develop, and, in partnership with our University colleagues, offers the highest quality programs, services, and opportunities, based on a foundation of values and the Mountaineer Creed.

The WVU Morgantown campus is located in a town named “No. 1 Small City in America” by BizJournals.com for its exceptional quality of life. It was also rated the ninth best college town in America by Business Insider and is within easy traveling distance of Washington to the east, Pittsburgh to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, to the northwest.
