Established in 1984, the Ottawa-Carleton Institute of Biology (OCIB) combines the research strengths of the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. The Institute offers graduate programs leading to the master?s (MSc) and doctoral (PhD) degrees in Biology.
Research facilities are shared between the two campuses. Students have access to the professors, courses and facilities at both universities.
The Institute is a participating unit in the collaborative programs in Bioinformatics (at the master?s level), in Chemical and Environmental Toxicology (at the master?s and doctoral levels), in Bioinformatics, and in Science, Society and Policy (at the master?s level).

B in an honours Bachelors degree
It is highly recommended that you contact your referee prior to submitting your application to confirm their email address and their availability to complete your letter of recommendation.
You must upload copies of all transcripts from universities you have attended to the student portal.

TOEFL 79-80 / IELTS Overall 6.5 - Individual 5.0 (Internet-based)
Resume
A letter of intent outlining your career goals and proposed research area.
We recommend that you contact potential thesis supervisors early. To register, you need to be accepted by a thesis supervisor.
International students must show proof of funding in the form of a supervisor stipend and a combination of scholarships and/or in-trust accounts.
A good knowledge of either English or French and good ability to write in English is required.
