Integrated Bachelor of Architectural Engineering / Master of Science in Architectural Engineering

In the integrated B.A.E./M.S. program, the M.S. curriculum is a total of 30 credits, 24 of which are coursework and 6 are research credits. 12 of the course credits count towards both the M.S. and B.A.E. degrees. The integrated degree program amounts to a minimum of 172 total credits, requiring a student to complete four additional three-credit courses and a six-credit research thesis above what is required for the B.A.E. degree.

Our program emphasizes the scientific and engineering aspects of planning, designing, and constructing buildings, providing our architectural engineering graduates with outstanding education and research opportunities. Founded in 1910, the Penn State Department of Architectural Engineering has established a long tradition of excellence and educational innovation. We are the oldest continuously accredited architectural engineering program in the United States. The department received its first accreditation in 1936 by the newly formed Engineers’ Council for Professional Development - the forerunner to Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
