Master of Landscape Architecture

Our interdisciplinary, hands-on master’s in landscape architecture program will prepare you for an exciting, in-demand career planning and designing outdoor spaces and landscapes. You’ll learn within a diverse, supportive community focused on design, cultural landscapes, and environmental issues.Expect small classes, personalized instruction, and global travel opportunities as you work toward your degree.You’ll have the freedom to choose your own creative project topic during your final year. Through a structured program of paid internships in professional offices, students also have the opportunity to develop a base of experience for a successful future in practice.Option 1 - You Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture 30 CREDITSThis option, known as Program 1, is open to students who hold a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from a program accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board.This one and a half year (30-credit) program is a second professional degree in landscape architecture intended to provide the opportunity for advanced specialization. Option 2 - You Have a Degree Related to Environmental Design and Planning Programs 65 CREDITs Students holding a professional degree in a related environmental design and planning discipline (e.g., architecture, interior design, urban and regional planning, etc.) are placed in Program 2, which includes 46 graduate credit hours and 19 undergraduate credit hours. This two-and-a-half-year program meets accrediting standards for the first professional degree in Landscape Architecture. Option 3 - You Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Another Major 79 CREDITS If you have a bachelor's degree outside environmental design, this three-year (79-credit) program—known as Program 3—prepares you for a career in landscape architecture. The program meets accrediting standards for the first professional degree in landscape architecture.
