The sport industry, due to its wide variety of career opportunities, requires unique skill sets including knowledge specific to the sport setting in the areas of marketing, finance, economics, management, communications and law. With the growing demand for a master?s degree in sport management for athletic directors, sport marketers and facility/event managers, our program provides a broad base of knowledge applicable to everything from local recreational leagues to professional teams. This 30 credit hour master's degree does not require a thesis and is offered 100% online or on campus to accommodate working professionals.
Becoming a leader in the sports industry begins with administrative courses that offer preparation for professional careers in the field. Unlike a general business degree, the master's in kinesiology and sport management a with sport management focus applies the business-related skills learned throughout the curriculum to the unique and important issues specific to the sport industry. The exercise science specialization is designed to prepare you for a career in the area of human performance training.
Gain insight on current issues in sports, facility management and legal issues in sports depending on the specialization you select. Explore a variety of career opportunities, from doctoral study to securing leadership positions in fields such as collegiate athletics, sport medicine, athletic trainer, sport marketing, community relations and more. Our expert professors will offer mentorship as you design an individualized plan of study that emphasizes the specialization that is most important to you.

Entry requirements for 南達科他大學
Official transcript(s) verifying receipt of an undergraduate degree and previous graduate credit (in English or with translation) must accompany an application. Official transcript of all academic work at the undergraduate and graduate levels are required for international students. The USD Graduate School and/or academic units retain the right to require credential evaluations from organizations, such as Educational Credential Evaluators/World Education Services (ECE/WES), for a student if such an evaluation is deemed necessary.
Baccalaureate degree must be from an institution with full regional accreditation for that degree. A minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.75 on conferred degree and/or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale, on all graduate coursework is required for full admission. Applicants to the Exercise Science specialization must have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in the prefix of exercise, sport, or fitness related area. Each graduate program may admit students on provisional status per university policy.
Applicants with degrees from countries other than the United States who have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree from a regionally accredited American college or university are not required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score. For all other applicants, a minimum score of 79 on the Internet-Based TOEFL (iBT) or 550 on the Paper-Based TOEFL (PBT), a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, Applicants from or who have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree from English-speaking countries are not required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score if their academic records after review indicate that English was the classroom language for their schoolwork.
Applicants are required to submit a 500-word Statement of Purpose stating reasons for pursuing graduate study in Kinesiology and Sport Management, future goals, and how USD would enable this success.
Additional Program Admission Requirements:
Three (3) professional letters of recommendation (one must be from an academic professor) from individuals who can attest to to the applicant’s scholarly abilities are required.
