Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering (Collaborative)
在皇后大學
關於課程
Biomedical Engineering involves the application of engineering principles to understand, modify or control biological systems with the objective of generating solutions to health-related problems. This area is diverse and multidisciplinary, bringing in concepts from chemistry, mechanics, biochemistry, mathematics, cell biology and physiology. This multidisciplinarity is reflected in our collaborative biomedical engineering program, which links the graduate programs in Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and provides shared learning experiences with interdisciplinary content, bringing students from a variety of backgrounds together to learn about research methodology and professional practice in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Our students have the opportunity to work in collaboration with researchers in many other Departments such as: Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Anatomy, Physiology, and Mechanical Engineering. In addition, many projects involve both cardiovascular and orthopaedic surgeons. Much of the research is done within the Human Mobility Research Centre at Kingston General Hospital. Other research takes place at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston and at the Schools of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen?s.
