Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering - Electrical Energy Systems

The electrical energy system research in the College of Engineering and Applied Science Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Wyoming is highly diversified and interdisciplinary. Research groups in our department work on different aspects to facilitate a more efficient, reliable and secured electrical power grid.

In particular:

Dr. Duan and his group have been working on statistical signal processing techniques for cyber security enhancement and communication and networking for data delivery.
Dr. Muknahallipatna and his group have been developing high performance computation to support real-time data analysis and efficient data storage.
Dr. O?Brien and his group have been designing variable loop transmission systems for simultaneous power regulation and load mitigation applied to large wind turbines.
Dr. Pierre and his group have been investigating advanced signal processing techniques to power system applications including power system electromechanical mode monitoring, oscillation detection and wide area power system test.
