Associate of Science in Radiologic Sciences

The radiologic sciences program prepares students to work closely with patients and to use advanced technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease. Diagnostic imaging plays a vital role in health care by providing an inside look into the body to assist in diagnosis. Radiologic technologists work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images. The radiologic sciences program can be completed in as few as 24 months and prepares students for entry-level placement in the field. Learning is accomplished through an integrated plan of classroom instruction, hands-on simulation in the radiology lab and supervised clinical practicum. Clinical education begins in the second semester and provides real-life opportunities to transfer theory into practice. Graduates are eligible to take the national certification examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
