Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology

The Veterinary Technology Associate of Applied Science degree is designed to prepare stu?dents to work as Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT). Students completing the program will have techni?cal skills and competencies to assist veterinarians in industrial, commercial, and research settings as well as in pharmaceutical companies and animal handling retail businesses. Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited the Veterinary Technology program in 1998. Accreditation allows graduates to be eligible to take the Texas State Licensed Veterinary Technician Examination (VTNE) and the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
