Please note: A degree in “Speech Science” or “Linguistics” is not an equivalent degree. If you do not have a background in speech pathology/audiology or communication disorders, contact the Program Adviser immediately to determine your eligibility. Applicants who have an undergraduate degree in another discipline may meet this admission requirement by completing pre-requisite undergraduate coursework through WWU's Post-Baccalaureate Program.
The CSD department suggests that at least 2 of the 3 letters of reference be from professors who can speak to your academic skills.

A baccalaureate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from an accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university, completed within the past 5 years

Within the application you will be prompted to upload an unofficial transcript from each institution attended.
You must complete either the TOEFL or IELTS exam and satisfy the minimum score requirement to submit your application. Score at or above the minimum TOEFL (86 iBT) or IELTS (7.0).
Prerequisites - Undergraduate major in anthropology or related field such as human biology, linguistics, classical studies, history, women’s studies, sociology and other social sciences. Applicants with insufficient background in theory, quantitative or qualitative methods relevant to their field of study may be required to take undergraduate classes before entering the program. Applicants are directed to the current course requirements in the appropriate undergraduate anthropology major for an indication of the preparation expected.
You are required to upload a scanned or electronically generated unofficial transcript from each post-secondary institution attended as part of the application. Provide a copy of your diploma if your transcript does not list the degree awarded. If your degree was earned outside the US or Canada, submit an official course-by-course credential evaluation from World Education Services, Inc. We recommend the WES ICAP product because it eliminates the need to provide an official transcript to our office. You must have earned, or must be in the process of earning, a degree that is equivalent to a four-year U.S. baccalaureate prior to beginning the graduate program. The degree-granting institution must be recognized by the Ministry of Education (or equivalent) in the country where the degree was earned. The Graduate School must receive the GRE or GMAT score reports directly from the Educational Testing Service, and receive the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score reports directly from the Psychological Corporation. Some programs do not require an admissions test if the applicant holds an advanced degree equivalent to the U.S. (master’s, Ph.D, M.D., J.D., etc.)
