The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics at Howard?s Graduate School provides students with a solid foundation in applied economic analysis, microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, and econometrics. Our M.A. in Economics program is designed for students and mid-career professionals who wish to apply economic theory and analysis to solve problems faced by global businesses and organizations and to address pressing societal challenges like global poverty and closing racial wealth gaps. Our program prepares students to pursue further study at the doctoral level or for careers as leading economists, consultants, statisticians, or research analysts in local and global policy organizations, government agencies, and financial institutions.

Entry requirements for 霍華大學
All students admitted to the graduate program must have at least a Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent, a cumulative GPA of B or better, a minimum of 24 undergraduate credits in economics, plus a course in differential calculus or mathematics for economists. The economics credits should include 6 credits of statistics and 6 credits of intermediate economic theory. Complete the on-line application including uploaded copies of the statement of interest, resume, email address for three recommenders who will submit a letter on your behalf, unofficial transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended, GRE scores, TOEFL scores, and a statement of financial resources, graduate assistantships and fellowships.
Persons applying to graduate programs must have a superior academic record and the equivalent of Howard University's four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.00 for graduate (Consult graduate department for exception to this requirement) Submission of a thesis in partial fulfilment of requirement for many departments
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) a score of 90 on the Internet base (IBT) is required for applicants whose native language is not English. Official TOEFL scores must be sent directly from ETS. The TOEFL test is only waived if the applicant has received a degree in the U.S. In lieu of the TOEFL (if not offered in your country), applicants may submit results from IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall score of a 6.5.
