The goal of our Ph.D. program is to train students for research activities in the field of speech and hearing sciences. For all students, the Ph.D. program places an emphasis on the acquisition of a fundamental knowledge base and the development of research skills. Many of our students will apply these research skills to clinical populations. A Ph.D. typically requires four to five years of research training and coursework, with the first two to three years devoted primarily to taking classes and developing basic research skills. During the first two years, students complete two research projects, which are thesis-like in nature but narrower in scope. These projects culminate in a publication, presentation, or both.

Entry requirements for 印第安納大學布魯明頓校區
Completion of an undergraduate degree in speech and hearing sciences or an acceptable related field (e.g., biology, engineering, linguistics, psychology).
Recommended Grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Recommmended Graduate Record Examination score in excess of 300 for the verbal and quantitative sections combined.
A 300-500 word statement of purpose
One copy of an official transcript of all previous college and university work
One official copy of GRE test scores.
Three letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with your ability to do scholarly work. With the online application, recommensdation writers can submit their letters online.
