Communities in both urban and rural contexts are facing a range of environmental, economic and social pressures. These have increased the demand for qualified planning professionals with excellent problem-solving skills. Lincoln University’s Master of Planning significantly deepens the skills needed to join an exciting, future-oriented profession working in the fields of urban, regional and environmental planning. You’ll also expand your understanding of the contexts and implications of planning through a Māori perspective and how an indigenous context influences your approach. There is also the option to specialise in water, energy, landscape, transport, resilience or international development.
With Lincoln University’s Master of Planning, you’ll be in demand as an Urban / Regional Planner among city and district councils, government departments, iwi organisations, private consulting firms, NGOs, universities and the private sector. Other specialist roles include Catchment Management Planner, Policy Analyst / Planner, Recreation Planner or Resource Consent Planner, including progression to senior managerial positions.

Entry requirements for 林肯大學
Entry to all Lincoln’s Master’s degrees requires a relevant degree with at least a B grade average in your 300-level or higher courses and final year overall (full-time equivalent).
Lincoln's Master's degree by Research only (120 credits) requires one year of full-time study. To apply you must have an appropriate and relevant postgraduate honours degree awarded with at least second class honours, division one, or equivalent (B+ grade average or higher).
Official academic transcripts (results/mark sheets) for all tertiary education qualifications, either completed or partially completed. The transcript must include the courses taken and the marks/grades achieved. The grading scale used must also be provided.
In the original language. If this is not English, then an official translation should be provided.
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that your level of English meets the English language requirements for admission to Lincoln.
IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no individual component less than 6.0, TOEFL iBT^ - Overall score of 80 (with at least 21 in Writing and 18 in Speaking)
