Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Public Relations

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in Public Relations are projected to grow 6 percent from 2018 to 2028. Organizations now more than ever need to maintain a favorable image with respective publics. Our program explores how to strategically craft messages that promote understanding and mutually beneficial relationships between the organization and its publics. These organizations include Fortune 500 corporations, non-profits, celebrity brands, healthcare facilities, government entities, and educational institutions.

As the largest department concentration with approximately 250 students, the concentration incorporates scholarship with practical application that aids students' development of skills in critical thinking, research, strategic planning, goal making, problem-solving and effective written and oral communication. We prepare students for careers in media planning, crisis and reputation management, social media coordination, sports communication, entertainment, government relations, and leadership.
