Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Science and Engineering

The objective of the PhD program is to provide candidates with broad multi-disciplinary training in computational science and engineering, in preparation for a career in industry or academia. Graduates are expected to be capable of independently conducting research, developing and applying novel ideas, and preparing scholarly publications. These objectives are met through a rigorous combination of course work beyond the Master?s level and independent research that clearly demonstrates innovation and a contribution to the field. The program provides both a broad knowledge of computational methods and training in basic research. Candidates must demonstrate a broad and sound background by way of a Comprehensive Examination to qualify for this degree.
