Master of Education

The Master of Education program is grounded in two main purposes:
(a) to provide a space for you to understand your professional knowledge, and
(b) to make meaningful links between this knowledge and the conceptual and theoretical framework of educational research.

StFX offers an online Master of Education in Administration & Policy and a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction. There are three options by which you may complete the requirements for the MEd degree: a course-based route, a project route, or a thesis route. The degree fulfills the requirements of the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for an increase in level of teacher certification.

StFX offers an online Master of Education in Administration & Policy or a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction
The StFX Master of Education program consists of 12 - three credit courses for a total of 36 credits.
As part of the Master of Education degree requirement, students must attend summer school for a minimum of one 4-week session during July. The session will be the July immediately following acceptance into the program.
