Graduate Certificate in Endodontics

The postgraduate certificate in Endodontics is a full-time, 24-month program accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). This certificate program also fulfills the educational requirements for specialty board certification by the American Board of Endodontics. Prepare for specialized practice, teaching and research with an Endodontics Specialty Certificate from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry—one of the first programs of its kind at a U.S. dental school. The rigorous 24-month program admits five exceptional applicants each September, who must remain in residency for the duration of the program. Residents work with cutting-edge technology in modern operatories. Each space is equipped with an operating microscope and a digital X-ray unit. The endodontic clinic is also equipped with a surgical suite fitted with digital equipment that can both record and broadcast live surgery. Additional facilities include one small field cone beam computed tomography, a well-equipped seminar room, study and office space, and access to research laboratories. You will acquire advanced didactic and clinical experience in various types of endodontic diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical techniques including nonsurgical endodontic treatment, retreatment and endodontic surgery. The highly diverse patient pool in Philadelphia provides an expansive range of treatment opportunities for residents. Special emphasis is given to emergency care, endodontic retreatment, endodontic surgery, and contemporary management of complex and/or refractory endodontic lesions.
