關於課程
Courses in applied quantitative methods and data visualization offer focused instruction in applied statistics, data collection and management, and the graphic presentation of quantitative data as tools for improving decision making and policy analysis and informing public debate. Taught by faculty and practitioners, courses address real problems that organizations face and help students develop the skills needed to work with complex data. Students are trained in the latest uses of leading statistical analysis and data visualization software, including R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, ArcGIS, and modern Web technology such as JavaScript and CSS, enabling them to acquire essential workplace skills.
As a master's student in Public and Urban Policy, you have the flexibility in your degree to address your unique interests and goals. You can choose in-depth study in one or more policy areas or methodologies or work with a faculty advisor to select courses from multiple fields. You have access to graduate courses across The New School, and we encourage you to explore electives in other programs and schools in addition to those offered at Milano. The path you create within or across fields will provide you with skills that can enhance your résumé by communicating expertise to potential employers.
