Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology

We train students as scientist-practitioners who contribute to the body of accumulated knowledge in the field as well as address problems affecting K-12 pupils’ learning, behavior, and cognition. The School Psychology program promotes an eco-behavioral theoretical model emphasizing skill development using evidence-based practice derived from applied behavior analytic, cognitive-behavioral, and social learning theory and research.
Graduates have in-demand skills that create ample opportunity for employment mainly as practitioners in the public K-12 education sector or as faculty at postsecondary institutions. Students graduate having earned the Ph.D. and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential in School Psychology, and also have the opportunity to become Nationally Certified School Psychologists, Licensed Educational Psychologists (a California credential), and, upon completion of post-doctoral requirements (which vary by state), licensed psychologists.

Entry requirements for 加州大學河濱分校
The following information is specific to our Ph.D. in education. Requirements for admission include:
Bachelor’s degree 4-year equivalent from an accredited institution
3.0 GPA in junior/senior years
GRE general test scores for verbal, quantitative and writing sections.
Transcripts- All academic institutions attended after high school should be reported even if coursework was transferred to another college or university. International applicants must submit official transcripts and Certificates of Degree/Diploma in their original language and English by the home institution. Notarized documents or copies are not accepted.
Acquire three letters of recommendation from academic sources.
Report GRE scores to UCR. Test scores may not be more than five years old from the month of matriculation
The Statement of Purpose is your opportunity to discuss your intent for pursuing the graduate program and how it aligns with your career objectives. The Personal History Statement is about your background, culture, economic and social experiences, and how those elements have led you to pursue a graduate degree. Each essay should not exceed 3,000 characters and is uploaded directly to the online application.
Submit a writing sample. The writing sample may be a research paper (term paper or empirical research paper) submitted for a previous course, but does not need to be graded. It should not exceed 30 pages. It should not be an abstract or a report, but a research paper. It is preferred that you be the sole author of the paper.

Paper-Based Test (PBT) - 550
Computer-Based Test (CBT) - 213
IELTS - minimum required scores:
Overall score – 7
Individual/sub-scores – 6
