If you are a graduate with education experience who is looking to expand your expertise in research, this masters course will provide you with the knowledge and the critical research skills you need for either career advancement in education-focused fields or as a stepping stone to doctoral research. The course offers a unique blend of postgraduate coursework and independent work on your chosen project with the aim of producing, presenting and submitting a final thesis. Throughout your research, you will be guided by an academic supervisory panel. This course provides you with a solid foundation of research perspectives and practices, with particular reference to education and learning, reading and critiquing research publications, communicating the results of research, and conducting practical and ethical research. You will also be introduced to a variety of research practices, such as survey research, case study, discourse analysis and ethnography.

Entry requirements for 坎培拉大學

A four year undergraduate degree in Education or a three year degree and a one year graduate diploma in a related area, or academic qualifications deemed equivalent with above average performance, and demonstrated capacity and/or aptitude for research. Two years of relevant work experience would be an advantage. Students without research training units in their previous studies will be advised to undertake the combined coursework/research training option in the course.

Usually, people who start a higher degree by research with us will have an Australian Bachelor's degree with Honours, or a Research Master's degree. Other acceptable qualifications include a postgraduate qualification of at least one year of full-time equivalent study with a significant research component, or relevant research experience. IELTS Academic: 6.5, TOEFL (iBT): 79.
