關於課程
The REM program has a four-year Ph.D., two-year master?s degrees (M.A.E. and M.Ed.), and a bachelor?s in education sciences (B.A.E.S.) specialization. The REM program also offers a minor to students of other departments. The on-campus Ph.D., on-campus master?s degrees, and minor may have quantitative or qualitative methods specialization. The online M.A.E. focuses on Program Evaluation in Educational Environments. The B.A.E.S. specialization is on Education Psychology & Research.
These programs are designed to help students develop skills in data analysis, educational research design and evaluation assessment through the courses offered by REM program faculty, by participating in research projects with faculty, and by conducting their own research projects. Graduates of the REM program find work as researchers, psychometricians, and data analysts in testing companies, research and evaluation companies, universities, school districts, state and federal agencies.
The REM program prepares M.Ed. students to become research methodologists by requiring the completion of comprehensive coursework in educational research methodology, educational statistics, and program evaluation, engaging students in collaborative projects with faculty, and providing opportunities for students to present research.
REM M.Ed. students meet with their advisers to develop a written program of work that includes required research methodology classes and electives. Most intermediate and advanced classes in the REM program required the completion of a research proposal. Every student completes an annual evaluation form identifying the student?s research productivity.
